A Thousand Winds

Do not stand at my grave and weep,

  I am not there, I do not sleep,

 

I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glint on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

    I am the gentle autumn rain.

 

When you awaken in the morning's hush,

     I am the swift uplifting rush

     Of quiet birds in circled flight,

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

 

   Do not stand at my grave and cry,

   I am not there, I did not die.

내 무덤 앞에서 울지마오

나는 그 곳에 없어요. 나는 잠든게 아니라오.

 

나는  불어오는 천개의 바람

나는 눈 위에 반짝이는 다이아몬드

나는 무르익은 곡식알갱이 위의 햇빛

나는 부드러운 가을비

 

그대가 작은 소리 하나에 아침잠에서 깰 때,

나는 그대를 깨운 새소리

푸드득 날아올라 동그라미를 그리는 소리없는 새떼

나는 밤하늘에 빛나는 작은별들

 

내 무덤 앞에서 울지 마오

나는 그 곳에 없어요. 나는 죽지 않았다오.
